Maintenance of metal anilox ink transfer rolls

The metal anilox ink transfer roll is an important part with high precision requirements and great value. The inking system of the flexographic printing machine, which is composed of anilox ink transfer roll, rubber squeegee roll and printing plate roll, is flexible contact and synchronous transfer of water and ink, which is different from the squeegee system, and the intermittent wear is very small. In fact, the vast majority of the damage of the anilox is caused by accidents, human factors and improper maintenance, and only a very small number of them are caused by normal wear and tear. Therefore, the maintenance of metal anilox ink transfer roll is extremely important and necessary.

1. Actively prevent and eliminate accidental and man-made damage factors, although the surface of the metal anilox ink transfer roll is plated with wear-resistant hard chrome, its matrix hardness is only HB180 ~ 240, which cannot withstand the impact and scratching of hard objects. Therefore, in the process of installation, commissioning, use and cleaning, care must be taken, and the surface must be carefully lifted and placed lightly to prevent hard objects from colliding and scratching the surface. The unfiltered hard particles and agglomerates in the strict waterproof ink are stuck between the two rolls, and the rubber roll is cut out of the groove and the surface of the anilox roll is bruised.

2. Strictly do a good job of cleaning and cleaning the metal anilox ink transfer roll and when the letter machine is completed for a long time, the ink transfer system must be thoroughly cleaned and wiped clean with a clean cloth. Because the water-based ink in the residual liquid is difficult to dissolve in the new ink after drying at the bottom of the cavity, unless it is dissolved for a long time. Once the anilox is clogged, it will affect the amount of ink transfer. The anilox roll that has been found to be clogged should be removed to protect the part outside the roll surface, and then immersed in a mixed solution of ester, alcohol, water and ammonia for a few days, or it can be treated with a liquid after alkaline detergent or strong descaler is dissolved with warm water, or the resin in the ink can be dissolved with a solvent (Most water-based inks consist of acrylic or paraben, generally with aromatic or ketone solvents). When cleaning on the machine, pay attention to protect the rubber roll and flexographic plate, and do not use solvents that will swell the rubber (such as xylene, esters, and ketone solvents). The surface protective grease must be cleaned before the new roll is used, if the free fatty acids are mixed with the ink, it is easy to stick and clog the mesh. Cleaning utensils can only be cleaned with copper wire brushes or brushes, and it is strictly forbidden to use wire brushes to clean, which is easy to scratch the roll surface reticulation.

3. When the machine is temporarily stopped, the metal anilox ink transfer roll should be disconnected from the print plate cylinder, but the anilox ink transfer roll should continue to contact and rotate with the rubber ink scraper roll to prevent the ink from drying up and depositing at the bottom of the net.

4. It is strictly forbidden for the metal anilox ink transfer roll and the rubber ink scraper roll to contact and rotate in the ink-free state, because dry friction will cause the rubber roll to heat up and damage, and the falling rubber particles will block the mesh.
