What Is a Honeycomb Paperboard Machine
A honeycomb paperboard machine is a type of equipment used to produce honeycomb paperboard. Both the paper core and the surface paper can be coated with glue, with the option to choose freely. It is equipped with paper core and surface paper synchronization testing equipment to ensure the consistency of paper core stretching and the synchronization of surface paper bonding. The gluing unit features a combination of pneumatic and mechanical lifting, allowing for quantitative adjustment of the glue amount and uniform glue application. The cutting unit, driven by a servo motor, provides synchronous cutting with high precision. The machine's user interface is simple and user-friendly.

High-Speed Horizontal Cutting

Applications of Honeycomb Paperboard Machine
Honeycomb paperboard is designed based on the principle of the natural honeycomb structure. The honeycomb paperboard machine binds corrugated base paper into numerous hollow, three-dimensional regular hexagons using glue, forming a cohesive force-bearing part—the paper core—and adhesive surfaces on both sides. This new type of sandwich structure is an environmentally friendly and energy-saving material made of paper.
Honeycomb cardboard used for packaging and transportation not only protects the product but also reduces transportation costs. Typical applications include cushioning pads, gussets, and more.
Honeycomb paperboard possesses excellent cushioning properties, making it suitable as a cushioning pad and isolation board for packaging. Compared to corrugated paperboard, its honeycomb sandwich structure provides superior cushioning performance. When used as a corner pad, one layer of paper is generally cut from the core paper to match the size of the cardboard, leaving the other layer intact. This layer connects several pads on different sides together, and then the corresponding parts of the contents are protected.

Honeycomb paperboard machines are classified into two types based on their operation: automatic and manual.
Additionally, honeycomb paper-making machines are categorized by the width of the honeycomb packaging paper they produce. One type is designed for honeycomb wrap with a width of 30 cm, while the other is for honeycomb cushioning paper with a width of 50 cm.
Honeycomb paper-making machines are also classified based on whether they produce single-layer or double-layer honeycomb paper. There are machines designed for single-layer honeycomb wrap packaging and machines for double-layer honeycomb cushioning wrap.

Working Principle of Honeycomb Paperboard Machine
The honeycomb paperboard machine is used to manufacture paper products such as paper boxes and cups. The machine produces these paper products using a process called corrugating. This type of paper is made by gluing two layers of paper together and inserting a honeycomb layer between them.
The working principle of the honeycomb paperboard machine involves taking a sheet of paper and running a series of knives over it. These knives cut tiny notches in the paper, allowing it to bend and take on the desired shape. Once the paper has been scored, it is fed into a series of rollers that complete the corrugation process. The layers are then placed into the machine and glued to the honeycomb layer. After the three layers are bonded together, the honeycomb paper can be cut into the desired shape and size.
The honeycomb paperboard machine consists of five main parts: the pulp preparation system, papermaking system, wire belt conveyor, drying system, and control system. In the pulp preparation system, wood chips are first crushed into small pieces and then screened to remove impurities. The screened wood chips are mixed with water to form a slurry, which is transported through pipes to the four-head box. The box is a pressure vessel in which the fibers in the slurry are divided into first, second, and third flows. Baffles in the box prevent fiber agglomeration. A well-designed and operated box will provide uniform fiber quality in the final product.
The honeycomb packaging machine can also produce honeycomb cardboard panels. These panels are made according to the principle of the natural honeycomb structure. They are a new type of environmentally friendly and energy-saving material that connects numerous hollow, three-dimensional, regular hexagons made from corrugated base paper with glue, forming an integral load-bearing member, or paper core, and bonding surface paper on both sides. The characteristic of this cardboard is that it contains a large amount of air inside each hexagonal unit. The production of this board requires a forming line and mold specially designed for honeycomb board production. Additionally, the honeycomb paperboard machine must be equipped with an airtight system to blow compressed air into the mixture of pulp and water during the formation process.
